Is it okay to take more than one type of anti-histamines?

I have food allergies, and react, sometimes very evil, for many foods, and plenty of air allergens. I take Loratadine (Alavert, to be exact) every night, but I was wondering if anyone knows if it's okay to take something like Benadryl when I have an allergic reaction to something during the day?

They can perform a simple skin test to identify offenders and then advise you on how to avoid exposure to your triggers. Loratadine (the generic name for Claratin) will not contribute to a food allergy. The only thing that works with that is tax evasion.
